Adventures in Paris 2025: A Family Semester Abroad Kindle Edition

The stories in this collection are about our experiences as a family living in Paris from January to July 2025. These stories cover topics ranging from daily life in Paris, to travel excursions that went well and not so well, and general musings on life come to mind when I had some time to reflect on life. My wife calls it our Family Semester Abroad.I’m not sure why I decided to write it. Best case, it becomes a runaway success that goes viral and is made into a movie and a Broadway musical. Worst case my family and I will have a journal that summarizes our intentions, motivations, and experiences that we can use to understand ourselves better and maximize our memory dividend from this time.Our perspective on life fundamentally changed 9 years ago when our son was diagnosed with a rare cancerous brain tumor. Today, we are grateful that he is currently a healthy, sweet, kind, curious, and enthusiastic 10 year old. That caused us to take stock of how we were living our life, understanding that time is more precious than money. We committed to maximizing our experiences and enjoyment of life as a couple and as a family as a life goal.In 2024 the right combination of life timing, financial planning, and work came together to make a career sabbatical possible. I have many more years when I can work, my son will be this age once.I hope you enjoy these stories as much as I enjoyed writing them.In this updated version, I have included Nicole's takes from her Instagram posts to show how she was feeling on similar topics at similar times.
